Earlier this year, DeltaTek announced that it would be supporting One to One Deeside Counselling – a Mental Health Aberdeen (mha) service – as one of its charity partners. DeltaTek has made its first donation of £2500 to the charity.

One to One was established in 1998 by a group of volunteers in Aboyne to provide free confidential counselling for residents in the area, before it joined mha in 2001. This service now covers a large geographical footprint in Aberdeenshire and supports clients from Drumoak to Braemar from its office in Aboyne and outreach service in Banchory.

Like Mental Health Aberdeen’s other counselling services in Aberdeen City, One to One aims to provide a safe space for people to be themselves and be heard by highly trained, professional counsellors. One to One currently has 17 volunteer and staff counsellors working both remotely and in-person and accept both GP and self-referrals.

Laura Simmons, Manager for One to One, said: “One to One provides a free, safe space for people in the Deeside area and it’s only thanks to support from the public and companies like DeltaTek that allows us to continue providing this service. We can’t thank DeltaTek and its team enough for the donation, this money will go toward providing counselling sessions and even training up new counsellors.”

Dave Shand, DeltaTek’s Chief Operating Officer, commented: “People are key to the success of our business and the last year has been harder than most, which is why we wanted to support a local mental health charity this year. Mental Health Aberdeen and its One to One service is very close to our hearts, and we’re delighted to be contributing toward the fantastic service that they offer.”
