Rory Cadenhead

Workshop Technician

When did you join Team DeltaTek?

I joined in October 2022.

Prior to joining DeltaTek, tell us a little about what you’ve been up to?

Prior to joining DeltaTek, I worked in Labouring/Floor Laying for oil rig accommodation, usually offshore or in port. I also have experience in welding and fabrication for the offshore sector, including making sea fastening clamps. I was also fortunate to have various labouring opportunities through my teen years.

What does your job entail?

My job entails quite a variety of tasks, the main one being to build, take apart and rebuild drilling tools which assist in cement placement. I’m also responsible for maintaining the associated paper work that comes with looking after the tools, as well as inspecting them for wear and damage. Keeping the workshop clean, tidy and safe is important also.

Has there been any highlights since joining DeltaTek? What do you enjoy about working here?

The highlights so far have been getting to know the job, the people who work here and learning new skills and knowledge to apply to everyday tasks. One thing in particular that I really enjoy is the assembly and disassembly process of the various types of tools.

Is there anything that you’ve learned about the tools, technology or company that has surprised you?

The Cure range of tools has surprised me, for such a vast range of procedures that they are built to cover they share very similar technology, which makes getting to know how they work easier to understand.
