When did you join Team DeltaTek?

1st April 2019

Prior to joining DeltaTek, tell us a little about what you’ve been up to?

When I left school at 17, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I started working at Peterkins Solicitors as an Admin Assistant helping out with any paperwork that needed to be done for various departments, visiting other solicitors to collect settlement documents for closed sales and covering reception. After a year, I moved to the Property department as a Sales Assistant, dealing with clients, getting their properties onto the market, arranging viewings and obtaining feedback.

After two and a half years, I went on to Aberdeen City Council in the Fleet Services department as a Fleet Support Assistant. Duties included creating job cards for our mechanics and processing and dealing with the taxi Hackney tests, amongst other things. During my last few months at ACC, I was supporting the Compliance Office, mainly helping with driver’s licences, training course logs and helping with job card audits to ensure that all our paperwork was up-to-date and correct. After 5 years, I decided it was time to move on.

Before starting with DeltaTek, I worked for Taylors Industrial Services as an Office Assistant in the Dry Waste department. I only worked at Taylor’s for a short period of time (9 months) and was sad to leave, but when I was offered the opportunity to work at DeltaTek and it seemed like an opportunity too good to miss.

What does your job entail?

As a business administrator, I carry out all the general admin for DeltaTek. From processing invoices, keeping track of everyone’s holidays, and ordering anything that the workshop/directors need, to working directly with the company directors to ensure they have the support required day-to-day.

It’s a really varied role where no two days are the same, which is amazing.

Have there been any highlights since joining DeltaTek? What do you enjoy about working here?

I’m a firm believer that it’s the people who make a workplace, and that’s what makes working with DeltaTek so great. Everyone is so easy to get on with and we all work together really well!

Is there anything that you’ve learned about the tools, technology or company that has surprised you?

Having come from a background with no oil and gas, drilling or subsea experience I have learned so much about the way our innovative technologies work and the positive impact they have on the industry.

It’s been really interesting getting to know how the Cure range – including SeaCure®, QuikCure® and CoreCure® – and ArticuLock® help save rig time for operators.
