When did you join Team DeltaTek?
August 2020
Prior to joining DeltaTek, tell us a little about what you’ve been up to?
Before joining DeltaTek, I spent 2 years working in the French and Swiss Alps in a hotel and was lucky to spend my days snowboarding. After this, I moved to Aberdeen to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aberdeen. Throughout my studies, I started my own portrait and wedding photography business, which I still run.
Before starting my final year in my master’s degree I joined Deltatek for a summer internship in 2019 and learned a lot while I was there. After my internship, I went back to university, finished my degree and returned to DeltaTek to join the team full-time as a graduate engineer in 2020.
What does your job entail?
A lot of the work I do at DeltaTek involves designing the tools, however, I also get to work on lots of different projects. I love the variety of work and I grab every opportunity to help out other areas of the business and learn wherever I can!
Have there been any highlights since joining DeltaTek? What do you enjoy about working here?
The biggest highlight for me has been the team. Every member of the team is really experienced in the industry and how it works, and they are happy to take the time to share that knowledge with me, which is an opportunity I might not have gained in a bigger business.
It is so exciting to be a part of this rapidly growing company and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes.
Is there anything that you’ve learned about the tools, technology or company that has surprised you?
I was very surprised how, through the simple operation of the technologies developed at Deltatek, a substantial amount of time can be saved for the rigs and operators.
